North Ayrshire Citizens Advice Service (NACAS) is looking for talented, forward thinking, and dynamic individuals to join our Board of Directors. Please read on to discover more about NACAS and the positive work we do.
NACAS is a charitable company limited by guarantee, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is a member of Citizens Advice Scotland, the umbrella body for all Scottish Citizens Advice Bureaux.
Formed in July 1998 from the amalgamation of Cunninghame Citizens Advice, the Unemployed Workers Centre and Arran Information and Advice, NACAS was incorporated into the Citizens Advice Service in August 1998.
Primarily a volunteer led service, NACAS collectively includes 127 staff, volunteers and Board members contributing to the service. Without our volunteers NACAS would cease to exist.
Over the years NACAS has faced many challenges and been involved in providing advice and assistance to the residents of North Ayrshire and beyond, across a range of issues including debt, employment, housing, benefits, consumer issues, etc.
In 2015, NACAS continues to build on its successes, delivering high quality advice and assistance to the residents of North Ayrshire as well as leading on a number of projects across the whole of Ayrshire. Whether through the provision of face to face advice at our bureaux located in Saltcoats, Irvine, Largs, Kilbirnie and Arran, or at our outreach surgeries in Kilwinning, Beith and Stevenston Libraries, or by our Home Visiting team or through one of our projects, our clients and partners alike can expect the highest levels of service from a trusted and professional charitable organisation.
By adhering to our guiding principles of providing FREE, IMPARTIAL, CONFIDENTIAL and INDEPENDENT advice, NACAS is able to stand strong in society, empowering individuals, ensuring no one suffers through a lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities and promoting equality within society.
NACAS is affiliated to the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers (SNSIAP), the accepted quality framework for agencies providing advice on housing, money, debt and welfare benefits issues and has achieved Level 3 accreditation.
NACAS also reports on matters of Social Policy through our umbrella organisation, Citizens Advice Scotland, which in turn reports directly into the Scottish Government, raising issues of the greatest concern within our community.
Few organisations have the ability, reputation and resources to deliver successful outcomes the way NACAS does, so if you’d like to become part of a forward thinking, successful local charitable organisation, then please call us on 01294 608140 or 608142 for further details.
