Better Off North Ayrshire (BONA), is a new three-year financial inclusion project, jointly funded  by the European Social Fund and Big Lottery Fund, uniting us with North Ayrshire Council, CLASP (Community Led Action and Support Project) and ANCHO (Ayrshire North Community Housing Association), as the core providers.

The project has two main outcomes:

• to improve our clients’ money management skills
• to improve social inclusion for clients with debt related issues

The service will be delivered in localities which are defined as the most financially excluded and the key functions are:
Registration, Assessment, Action Planning
Each client will go through a registration, assessment and action planning process. This will be tailored to the individual and be responsive to individual need. Financial action plans will be agreed with the individual and realistic timescales set to achieve action plan objectives.
Financial Action Planning
Based on individual action plans the following core modules of support will be available: money management, budgeting skills, household budgeting, debt management, debt response, affordable credit, affordable products, savings advice, bank accounts and Credit Union membership.

The core partners will cover the following areas:
NACAS: Ardrossan/Saltcoats/Garnock Valley/Largs
ANCHO: Irvine
CLASP: Stevenston/Kilwinning

Our Team
John Mulholland, Allison Jones and Peter Rout are our Financial Inclusion Advisers.
Jennifer Murray is the Project Administrator and Michael McGuire is the Project Lead.

John, Allison and Peter will identify clients at our outreach sessions and through working with Saltcoats & Kilbirnie Job Centre Plus and local Employability Hubs. Clients will also be referred to us by  our partners.
